Jammers vs briefs for a swimsuit?

Im still trying to decide on which to purchase, im use to the briefs from when i was on the team, but i hear alot of good things on the jammer. What do you all think?

It all depends on what matters to you. If you want to go faster in meets and in practices, go with a brief, but in practice it isn't really helpful unless you're wearing a drag suit. Jammers are going to be more comfortable, and may be a bit more resistant that a brief but you want a less hydrodynamic suit in practice (thus the drag suit) so it feels you are going faster.

If you are talking about racing, the briefs are faster unless you buy a suit that has fabric which is more hydrodynamic than skin (Speedo Fastskin, Fastskin II, FS Pro, or LZR. I am not sure on other brands). For training, it is much more of a personal preference. I prefer to wear a brief and over it I wear a square leg mesh trainer to increase resistance. Jammers do have more coverage if you are uncomfortable with showing that much skin, but from the fact that you are used to briefs, I assume you are not. I really like to find my suits on www.swimoutlet.com. There are often sales and inexpensive suits which are great for training. Overall though, it is all what you prefer.

Jammers. They're more comfortable, and I think they look a lot better than the briefs.

i find the brief more comfortable than the jammer. i wear briefs more often than jammers, but it is all personal preference for practice.

It all depends on what stroke you do. If you do breaststroke you should wear a speedo. With a speedo there is no restriction on your legs for the kick. As long as your aren't swimming breaststroke a jammer is fine. You can wear a jammer for breaststroke but my coach is always telling the guys that do breaststroke that they should wear a speedo.

I would stick with jammers. The girls don't like to always see guy's in a speedo unles you have the body for it.
