I am headed to Cozumel tomorrow and I cannot find my PADI card. Does anyone know where I can get a temp online?
Thanks!

You can order a replacement through PADI's website at http://www.padi.com/scuba/scuba-certification-cards/default.aspx It looks like it should be $30 with many opportunities to pay more.

Perhaps you can print the card preview the website shows for use as a temporary.

Susan, I was in the same situation about 10 years ago. I had gotten my C-card in 1975 and dived a tiny bit. And lost it. You could contact PADI (Pay All Dollars Immediately)but realistically, you should take the Open Water class again. I did and I was amazed how much I had forgotten and how much the equipment had changed. So I suggest recertifying. Without your old card, you may not be able to just take a refresher course - they probably want the whole ball of wax. And there is the safety issue...

I seriously would say redo the course again. Diving hasn't changed, but equipment and divetables are more modern and up to date and we know far more about the physiology of diving now. You need to go through it all again from the start - 28 years is just to long out of the water! Why do PADI though? There is SSSI, NAUI and BSAC, all are good and offer a real alternative to PADI!

Any one that has access to the PADI Pro website (PADI divemaster, instructors, dive shops, etc.) can use the "PADI Dive Chek" online to verify you certification.

You will need to provide your first name, last name, and date of birth. The names need to match exactly how it is spelled on your certification cards.

If you still have your logbook with all of the certification dive sign off sheet, I would recommend taking that too.

Most PADI dive shops can confirm that you're certified if you provide identification, such as a driver's license.
