I feel discouraged and frustrated since they are much faster and I work so hard and never beat them! I've always wanted to make the Olympics but with them, my times feel like thousands of seconds away from the qualifying times!

Keep your head up! How long have you been swimming? It's very possible that those girls have been swimming longer than you. I have felt the same way throughout my years of swimming, but I couldn't let that bother you. Let that motivate you to come to practice more often or try harder in practice. I believe that if you want something badly, you will try every single thing you can to make sure you get to that goal. Good luck with your swimming and always remember to have fun with it!

It is wise to have a long, hard look at your actual skills or talents. Ask your coach, parents and elders for opinions and advice. You may very well be talented in other sports, arts, music, drama, etc but have not discovered, up till now. However, if you have a good height, say close to 6' and have a nice streamlined body, big hands and feet, maybe you could reconsider, and try for another year. Time is precious, so it is better to decide early and not have illusions or to waste your chances. Best of luck!

....No way are you going to make the olympics like that! XD

Try to focus on schoolwork so you can get an actual job.
