Swimming and running are not realated. You might be able to but you need to practice first or you might strain yourself.

Swimming a 6:30 mile is insanely fast, you probably sprint the whole thing!!
Running a 6:30 mile is decent.
You will probably get over ten minutes your first 500 you swim, but you'll improve.

The running will make your fludder kick stronger, but that is about it. It also will improve your cardio level. It sounds like your legs and cardio are very strong if you can run like that. Swimming has always been part of my life, and in my 5th year I swam a 500 yd in around 6:55. By the end of the next season, I was down to a 6:20. But those were in yards. To swim it in under 10 min, each 50 can last a minute. In a meter pool, during practice, I swim it in about 7:40ish. Your endurance level should make you moderately fast, but make sure your technique is good (you are efficient) before trying it.
