Speedos style suits give you less drag, better leg movement and are popular in most parts of the world except the US it seems. But in competitive swimming, even US swimmers more than not choose the speedo. No matter what you wear, people are only going to stare at your crotch or your butt.

Briefs are the only way to go. Jammers do not allow enough leg movement.
Here in America, don't wear briefs to an outdoor pool. That is the only reason I have a couple pair of jammers.

It makes me sad listening to guys like Jarrd. They tell you should wear jammer, yet he's never even worn a speedo, and felt how it feels being inside of one.
You sould at least wear a speedo several times, before deciding what to wear in the long run.

Now that your in high school go with a speedo. The boys won't give you a hard time in practice and if they do just wear a drag suit over it in practice. In meets everybody wears speedos or if the don't they wear really fast jammers like FS Pros. So I would reccomend a speedo

Most of the high school guys on my swimteam wear Speedos, because they give you more leg movement than jammers. If you are feeling uncomfortable about wearing a Speedo, wear a jammer the first day and see what everyone else is wearing. Switch to a Speedo for the rest of the practices if most guys are using them.

If you don't like showing-off too much skin wear a jammer, but if you don't mind wearing a swim brief then go with a speedo.

well i personally would go with the speedo because like what some of the other people has said, jammers do kind of dra u down when ur swimming that is why i where one myself. (no, i am not gay. and i dont know why people associate speedo with homosexuals?!?!?!?!?)

I think the popularity really depends on the region you swim in, and how competitive the people are. I personally like jammers. They're comfortable, and more modest. XD I've never actually swam in a speedo before, so I can't say if there's a difference in speed or ease of movement. You could just get a pair to try for yourself... If nothing else, just use jammers to train in, and a speedo at meets if you decide you like speedos better. For training purposes, a polyester suit works best. Jammers/speedos tend to wear out really quick if they're made of certain materials, but polyester lasts a looong time compared to the few weeks/months that lycra or some other material lasts.

Speedos are better as there is less drag, but be prepared to be laughed at. If its common, then forget being laughed at. Jammers are stil stylish and increase your speed as there isnt much drag.

I agree with most people. Wear a Speedo a few times before you go to jammers. I started off with just jammers thinking speedos were gay and stupid. As soon as I started wearing regular swim briefs (speedos) instead of Jammers I never wore jammers again.
Also, take my and others advice by using a drag suit over your speedos in practice. Good luck this year and go for it!

Speedo's are no quicker than jammers. and that i would not Imaginge which you're swimming for extremely plenty velocity at your first prepare besides. Jammers are plenty extra usual than speedo's between adult adult males i know so i'd flow with them.

I think I know what a jammer is, but I'm not 100% positive, but it's got to be better than a speedo! I'd go with the jammer.
