i'm just learning how to swim and when you dive, should you blow a bubble or just close your mouth while underwater?

I keep my mouth closed, but very slowly breathe out my nose, keeping the water out. Once you get comfortable in the water, you can open your mouth if you like, it's a very interesting sensation. Just don't ever breathe in!

If making a long dive you hold breath! Seconds before you get out you blow!
If just swimming and get breathes every once in a while then blow!

It's probably best to blow out your mouth slowly for a few strokes and then out your nose quickly before you go to take a breath. Then breathe in your mouth and keep going

I keep my mouth closed and sometimes blow air out of my nose. But recently heard of some coaches (specifically Olympian Neil Walker) suggesting that his swimmers use a nose clip. Not sure exactly why, I think more for air breathing intake vs. breathing out.
