One girl wears leggings along with her swimsuit for moral reasons and for consistency purposes the rest of the girls in the class have been asked to wear leggings too. Is this fair? Most of the girls are probably going to go along with this but some are reluctant. We have a fairly strict dress code for swimming already where girls must wear a black one piece swimsuit so to add leggings to this is really quite restrictive. The boys haven't been asked to cover up in any way so this seems a bit unfair.

It does seem to be a rather stupid and impractical ides.

If someone had a "moral objection" to a swimsuit because they were nudist, would everyone have to do the same or would that one person be excluded from swimming??

They (either example) have the choice to not join/be allowed in if they will not wear the same suit.

"When in Rome, be Roman" - people are supposed to adapt to places/cultures they go to, not make the place/culture adapt to them. That's been a guideline rule for a very, very long time.

Honestly this pisses me off. Just because one girl doesn't like showing her legs for "moral reasons" doesn't mean everyone else should have to cover up too. And it's sexist how the boys can show their stomachs and show as much skin as they want, while girls are now being told to wear leggings! There is no way in hell that I would ever wear leggings with a swim suit. I've never heard of anyone wearing leggings and I feel like it would slow you down. I wouldn't do it if I were you. And I would get other people not to do it too. It's stupid.

No, it is not fair. If that one individual has certain "moral" objections to swimsuits, she's free to augment her own swimsuit to suit her own feelings. That's her choice. But neither she nor anyone else has the right to tell all the other girls they must do the same when they feel no such "moral" objections.

[I put the word moral in quotes because morals by dictionary definition have to do with what is truly right and truly wrong based on tangible benefit or harm to someone. The common usage of the word as in the case of this girl's objections to swimsuits deals with feelings, beliefs, and opinions, whether the individual agrees or disagrees with something. That is not the correct usage of the word "morals", so it gets quotes around it.]

If the standard is a black one piece, then I don't see why you should be forced to wear leggings, however it seems Racingsuits offer better performance than regular One Pieces.

"Polls" aren't what determines what is fair Emma.

You are asking

1) To wear the equivalent of panties and a bra at SCHOOL, claiming it is "appropriate" (your complaint against one piece swimsuits)

2) To discriminate against a girl simply because the team needs matching uniforms and she doesn't feel comfortable being as naked as you do.

You already said most of the girls are okay with it, so YOU are the only one who has a problem. I wonder why.
